Creating an original anthem and music video that transformed the spirit of Vicki’s Tap Pups into a full-scale performance moment.

To support the launch of Encore Performance, I wanted to produce an original anthem and music video that captured the heart of Vicki’s Tap Pups. Collaborating with UK writers and producers Chicks with Hits, the result was “Chance to Shine,” a high-energy pop track that embodied the dance program and story’s spirit. The video featured over 100 of Vicki’s dancers and premiered as the opening number of her Spring Show during the book release year, turning the message of the book into a standing-ovation moment on stage.

To support the launch of Encore Performance, I wanted to create something that extended beyond the book itself — a piece of music capable of capturing the energy, optimism, and emotional spirit behind Vicki’s Tap Pups. The idea quickly evolved into producing an original pop anthem and music video designed to celebrate the dancers, the movement, and the larger message of reinvention woven throughout the story.

Collaborating with UK songwriting and production team Chicks with Hits, we developed “Chance to Shine,” a high-energy track rooted in confidence, joy, and second acts. The song became an emotional extension of the book itself, translating the themes of rhythm, resilience, and self-belief into a fully performative experience.

The accompanying music video featured more than 100 Tap Pups dancers and premiered as the opening number of Vicki’s annual Spring Show during the book launch year. Watching the dancers perform the song live in front of packed audiences transformed the project into something much bigger than promotional content. It became a true celebration of community, movement, and the idea that everyone deserves their own chance to shine.
