ZERO Makeup by Nabila
As President & Partner at SWAT, I worked closely with founder Nabila to help transform ZERO Makeup from an early-stage beauty concept into a globally scalable brand built specifically for skin tones the industry had long overlooked.
BEFORE “INCLUSIVE BEAUTY” BECAME A CATEGORY
I first met Nabila through a business referral and was immediately struck by her clarity, style, and calm confidence. She had vision, purpose, and a product she fully believed in. Within minutes, I knew we would build something great together.
Long before inclusivity and clean beauty became dominant industry conversations, Nabila was already solving a very real problem. Her idea was simple but powerful: an all-in-one complexion palette designed specifically for the undertones and complexities of Middle Eastern and South Asian skin.
The concept was minimalist, intuitive, and deeply needed.
LESS, BUT SMARTER
Working closely together at SWAT, we developed the name, positioning, identity system, messaging architecture, and launch strategy for ZERO Makeup by Nabila in under six months.
The brand was intentionally modern, globally intuitive, and built around the philosophy that less could actually do more.
“Nabila was not chasing trends. She was solving a problem the industry had largely ignored.”
The Face Perfecting Palette combined practicality with emotional resonance. The messaging focused on enhancement rather than concealment, positioning the product as an intelligent beauty tool designed to work with natural beauty rather than mask it.
Takeaway:BUILT WITH CLARITY
ZERO reinforced how powerful founder clarity becomes when paired with speed, discipline, and strategic focus. Nabila knew exactly who the product was for and what she refused to compromise.
My role was helping turn that conviction into a scalable brand system capable of growing globally without losing its simplicity, elegance, or integrity.
